Is it possible to connect the diyhue bridge to my hue account to enable Spotify sync for a entertainment area? This would be very nice. Sadly when trying, the bridge is not found…

Unfortunately Hue app implemented this as cloud based service. Only genuine devices are able to use cloud services.

Works great with diyhue and also has a entertainment sync function when you play music from your phone. Works also with amazon music.
I do not understand. What do you mean by genuine devices?
Spotify service in original hue is implemented via cloud connection from app to servers and back.
Hue Essentials however has it implemented in the app itself and can control your lights locally.
